Role of women in society has been seeing a paradigm shift ever since women became self-aware. More and more women today are now moving out of their comfort zones and trying their hands at things no one ever fathomed they were capable of. More and more women are stepping out of their homes into workplaces. And some are making their homes turn into workplaces.

Janhavi Anupam Bagul-Aslekar, BA in Soc lives in Kalyan. Since her childhood she was fond of reading, trekking. It is because of her mother and her liking towards reading Janhavi started participating in theatre activities. But this is not only for which she is known for.

Janhavi is running a cell named “KhadyaVrunda” which distributes products of three different companies.  Many housewives who are running their business from house, operate through Khadya Vrunda . Thus, Janhavi is helping other women is running and building their businesses. She is known for her smooth, customer friendly and easy going nature which understands customer’s needs to perfect.

Her success with “KhadyaVrunda” opened door of a bigger opportunity for her, as she is now part of an organization named “Swawlamban Foundation.” Swawlamban is a marathi word which means self-reliance, and this is true about the organization. She is designated as the media president of Swawlamban Foundation to the date. Due to her work in her field and her success, she received “Tejasvita Award” which is one of the prestigious award in Swawlamban Foundation.

While doing all these she never disconnected herself from her love towards theatre. She is now associated with Shrirang Theaters for last 2 years, participating in some competitions and winning them. She has hosted many programs in her field and encouraged some of the new distributors coming into her field. Janhavi’s work is associated with many different domains like distributing homemade products to managing media and promotion cell of a successfully running organization. She is associated herself with theatre while managing many businesses in her distribution channel.

While doing all this things in different domains and achieving such success, Janhavi’s way was not an easy one. She had her own obstacles and challenges waiting for her. She is a mother and raising her son while doing all these stuff. She herself had some health issues and but still she managed to do all the things while keeping herself fit and fine. Her biggest challenge was to break the stereotype that only men can do a distributor’s work and this is not a woman’s work as it involves lots of travelling and networking. But Janhavi stood strong and did manage successfully.

Story of Janhavi definitely teaches us to look after your hobbies and explore them while keeping your house well managed and maintained. She is still trekking with her trek-partners, and is still continue with her habit of reading. Janhavi has many more things to achieve and the way she is working she will definitely achieve those things in years to come. But while doing that, she is surely inspiring and motivating many women in her circle.
