She is not just the founder of Poshak but also a celebrated social worker in her locality. She started the venture from her home itself by teaching herself the art of knitting. In my conversation with her, she replied with a nostalgic remembrance, how she used to finish her household chores and sit down with her knitting needles and did not move a single inch without mastering the ‘knitting trick of the day’. Gradually with time her skill got better, and then almost after a year, she made her first ‘poshak’ for her deity ‘Thakur Ji’. Her ‘poshak’ was appreciated by all of her extended family, and soon after she posted a picture of it on Facebook, she started getting various orders for the same. And from there started her journey of glory, courage, and honour. Jyoti Creations gave Mrs Jyoti Agarwal a zeal to look beyond the walls that the society created for her, and now, she aspires to employ and skill several underprivileged women under her, to give them a life of integrity and financial independence.
